Rosie Hinton, 21, is a pastel-colored ’80’s space baby’ living in London with her best friend, and goth, Jude.
She told BTV: “My style actually originated from researching lolita fashion, which is a Japanese street fashion. Very inspired by the Victorian era and cute 80s.
Rosie’s best friend Jude, also 21, finds her inspiration in very different places.
She said: "I am a goth basically, I love all things black and white.”
The pair live with each other in their flat in Edgware, London and have even themed their bedrooms around their unique looks.
Rosie’s bedroom is jam-packed with pink toys, happy clowns, and colorful stuffed animals.
She said: “I often see my style as an escapism from the real world because it’s so easy to fall into like a dream-like state when you are surrounded by so many visuals, so many decorations, so much colour."
In stark contrast, flatmate Jude has taken the more minimal approach, choosing only black and white decor.
Sticking to her gothic ways, she even has the curtains pinned shut to avoid the daylight.
The pair have taken their dedication to their styles so far that they even share a dressing room which is split entirely down the middle, divided by a sofa which is half pastel pink and half gothic black.
And they even have their own individual toothpaste that matches their look.
Rosie said: “I have got a marshmallow flavored toothpaste and the packet is white and pink and it has these happy little marshmallows on."
Jude added: “And mine is black and white and it's charcoal, so the toothpaste is black.”
The duo met at college after admiring each others’ unique appearances and have been best friends ever since.
Rosie said: “We met at college and the reason we met is because we both looked very strange.”
Despite having such striking appearances, the pair agree they don’t always enjoy the amount of attention they receive on the street.
Jude said: "I get a lot of attention in the street by a lot of people, especially people asking for photos which I don’t really like to be honest.
"I would rather just walk around and people not notice me, which I think is a common misconception with people that are extreme. They assume that we want the attention, we want to be the centre of attention all the time, but a lot of us don’t. I just like looking like this"
Rosie added: “I don’t really like the attention that it attracts because it’s never just attention, it’s, ‘Why do you look like that? Who are you? Why are you doing this?'
“It’s always like they are trying to find a reason for what I am doing instead of just being okay with it.”
Although the girls look different on the outside, the pair believe they are a lot more similar than first mets the eye.
Rosie said: "I love being with someone that aesthetically looks like Satan, or some kind of little underground creature, but also loves the things that I present myself as and vice versa.
"I think that’s why we’ve got such a strong connection and people get a kick out of seeing us wandering about.
"People run to us and they are like, ‘Why are you friends because you like black and you like pink?’
"Because you cant like more than two colours in this world, you know!"
