Aidan and Heather Silva from Spring, Texas have been together for six and a half years, and married since July 2016.
The couple first met whilst working at a Victoria Secret store, and there was immediately a spark.
Aidan told Barcroft TV: "The moment I fell in love with Heather was actually my first day at work at Victoria Secret."
Heather, 26, added: “He always needed extra training, the simplest things to do, he just couldn’t figure it out.
“Aidan’s flirting was very schoolyard, if we were five, he would be kicking sand at me in the playground.”
Aidan, 26, first realised he was transgender when he was 23, and came out in a less conventional manner.
Aidan said: “I was 23 when I first came out, and I used YouTube as the platform to let everyone know at the same time; this is what is going on with me, this is what I plan to do.
"Everyone was very supportive, everyone understood."
"I think it’s very hard to define what a man is, I think it’s more about the attitude and the presence of the person, versus what’s between their legs.”
Despite the couple's close relationship, Aidan was nervous about telling Heather his dreams of changing gender.
He said: “I just asked her point blank, ‘Would you still want to be with me if I was a man?’ She needed to take her time to process what I was telling her.”
Heather added: “He asked if I would still love him, and I feel so bad saying it now, but I actually wasn’t sure at the time.
“I did a lot of thinking, and my own research. Finally I was just like, ‘How stupid are you? This is the person you fell in love with. Are you really willing to lose the person you really love?’”
Heather now supports her husband’s decision, and since he began his transition he has had top surgery to remove his breasts.
Aidan now injects testosterone into his body every Thursday, and will continue doing so for the rest of his life.
He told Barcroft TV: “One of the first changes I noticed was my voice dropping and my Adam’s apple becoming more visible.”
Heather added:” Not even just physical, he was hungry all the time!"
Aidan is full of praise for the way Heather has continued to support him.
He said: "Heather has supported me in all aspects of this transition, giving me my shot, to going with me to every single appointment trans related.
“I don’t believe that I would have been able to be as far in this transition if it weren’t for Heather.
“My top surgery was my first ever surgery of any type, and it was a pretty intense surgery. When I woke up and realised it was done, the weight literally had been lifted off my chest.”
Heather said: “I don’t find it too different being in a relationship with a man rather than a woman. I like to believe that I’m attracted to people based on other aspects other than gender, I guess it’s something that you feel and you know.
“Aidan pre-T versus Aidan now, it’s not too different other than there’s now a little bit of beard hair in the sink.
“I think he’s pretty hot either way, I got lucky either way I think.”
She then told Aidan: “I’m your biggest cheerleader, greatest defender, just trying to protect you as much as I can and make sure nothing is going to get in your way when it comes to transitioning.
"Whatever he wants to do in the future to make himself more comfortable - I’m totally on board.
“I like to say that we’ve transitioned together, in a way.”
The power couple won’t let anything get in their way, and are even looking to have children in the future.
Aidan said: “We’ve discussed children in the future, possibly the near future.”
Heather added: “At least two, but we definitely have the advantage of planning. No surprises."
