Strike a pose: The bear was grinding against a pole

The 400lb bear had been lazily walking along a path when it suddenly reared up on its hind legs and started writhing by a road sign.

Sweet delight: The bear appears to have a moment of elation after scratching its itch

The animal's rhythmic motion lasted more than 10 seconds and made it appear as if it was performing a funky dance routine like pop star Beyoncé Knowles.

Family trip: The pole dancing bear was caught on camera by the Ethridge family
Picturesque trip: They were travelling through Yellowstone Park in the hope of spotting some bears

The bizarre scene was filmed by Michael Ethridge during a drip to South Dakota with his wife, Mimi, and teenage grandsons Jon and Sam.

Nice surprise: The family got more than they bargained for when they spotted the 400lb pole dancing grizzly

He said: "We were driving through bear country and caught this grizzly in front of our vehicle.

Standing tall: The family travelled to see the bears of Yellowstone Park in July of 2014
Behind you: The stuffed bears were nothing like the real thing

"We had been following it for a few minutes when the bear stood up and started scratching its back on a pole in a really funny way.

What a performance: After grinding on the pole the grizzly walked away satisfied

"I was amazed. The boys were going berserk in the back seat. Our friends think it is the funniest video ever."

Good laugh: The family can be heard giggling at the raunchy bear throughout the video

Mr Ethridge from Birmingham, Alabama, filmed the incident in July 2014 but has only just made it available.
