In 2017, Martina began using controversial tanning injections - which are illegal in Britain - to achieve what she described as, a ‘crispy brown’ tan.
But after turning her skin a deep brown, the blond-haired, fair-skinned model has now decided to controversially ‘transition’ into an ‘African Black Woman.’
The 30-year-old model from Trier, Germany told Barcroft TV: "My first body modification procedure started in Spring 2012. I had a rhinoplasty, I got smaller legs, hips and waist as I wanted to create an extreme version of Barbie.
"In the past it was blonde Barbie with white skin but now it is a extreme exotic Barbie."
As well as changing the colour of her skin, Martina claims that the tanning injections have made her eyes brown and her hair dark and curly.
She now wears traditional African clothing and is learning Swahili and has recently returned from a trip to Kenya, where she met her fans and learnt about the culture she so badly wants to become part of.
She said: "When I started I only wanted to have little bit of sun color, like, holiday color. The doctor did three injections in January last year in 2017, but not only my skin color changed, also my eye brow color changed, my eye colour changed, my big growing hair got darker and now you can see it’s going curly like the African girls.
“So really my whole body has changed.
“It’s really fascinating what’s happened, I think I am changing my race, yes.
"This is the reason why I go to Africa, to learn more about the culture, I’m not only changing my colour, but I feel like I’m black.
“I now describe myself as an African woman.”
With such a controversial change to her appearance and claiming to identify as a completely different race, it’s no surprise that Martina is receiving a backlash.
She said: “A lot of people say, 'You can’t never be black', but if you are really open-hearted and concentrate yourself, you can see it’s not only the look that’s changed, it also the inner heart.
“It’s really hard to explain why I am feeling black, but even as I go out I am much more in contact with the black persons then the white persons. Even they know me. I feel the same like the black people."
While many people are critical of Martina’s new look and identify, she claims to have befriended members of the African community living in Germany, who approve of her ’transition.’
One of her new friends is Carol, who she connected with on social media and recently met in real life for the first time.
Carol said: “I saw her on Facebook, how she is now black and I was much interested and I wanted to ask her, ‘Why?’ What made her change her colour to black?’ because it’s not known for a white person to change their colour.
"And she’s very interested to know how we live in Africa. We have got many things in common.”
Martina’s no stranger to extreme body modification. To date, she has spent over £50,000 on cosmetic surgery, including her enhanced 32S breasts - which she can pump up by injecting saline.
And now, she is planning on tweaking her body further to ‘fit her new African look.’
She explained: “My breasts, they are actually the biggest breast of Europe with 7100 CC, but I think they are much too small.
“You can see my nose is not really matching to my African look. So, I think [I need] a natural close lip enhancement or nose enhancement, but lot of stuff could be done as well. My lips [and] my nose must be [made] bigger, like, wider and also my butt must be bigger.”
Martina’s boyfriend Michael has been a constant support to his girlfriend’s ever-evolving look.
He said: "I’ve found Martina’s transformations so fascinating. When I met Martina in school, she was a natural, shy girl. Her breasts were much smaller, the hips much bigger, and then she started the enhancements.
"And then Martina started the second big transformation - into a real African beauty.
"In the past I find the blondes were my absolute dream girls and now it is completely different, now I don’t look to the blonde girls and I find African girls so beautiful. I don’t understand it but the whole feeling’s changed after the transformation.”
Martina added: "I want to be more black.
"Big is not big enough’ is still my motto. But also, like, it’s black is beautiful.”
